SOA’s Second Act: Dynamic Documents Top the Agenda

    May 23rd, 2008

We wanted to share an excellent post on the Silverlight Developer’s Journal. The article discusses how “SOA’s next act must accommodate documents, making them not only a key information source, but also a new application context. Documents contain key information that must be accessible across the enterprise. Service oriented architecture (SOA) has been focused on service-enablement of structured and transactional data and processes, documents and document-centric processes have been conspicuously absent from the SOA agenda. With structured data in order, organizations are now beginning to take a closer look at the role of unstructured assets as part of SOA.” Read more

We, along with our customers, agree. When a business automates document creation, it can then integrate documents with all of its other business processes. Most important, the business can capture tangible real-time data around document creation and deliver the information back to the enterprise.

    Embedding TrueType Fonts for LOOP

    May 5th, 2008

As some of you may have noticed, when converting from Microsoft Word or PowerPoint to PDF using our LOOP service, some fonts are not supported (i.e. some fonts do not get converted correctly). Fortunately, if the font you are trying to use is a TrueType font, you can solve this problem by embedding the font.

Watch this 15 second demo to see how to embed a TrueType font

Hope that helps! Please contact us at support@drawloop.com with any questions.
